MPM~June 4

My menu is a little unusual this week... I have been making new things pretty much all week for many weeks now (thanks to MPM). Anyway, I decided this week to let each person choose a meal for Monday through Thursday. We are headed to Dallas for our monthly trip this Friday. We will stay with Matt's sister Jane Ann. Friday is my mother's birthday, so we'll have to celebrate before I leave and then Sunday is Matt's 40th birthday!!! I can't believe I'm married to such an old guy :o). I'm just glad that I am so much younger than he is. I was going to have a big surprise party for him because a lot of people thought it would be good to 'get' him, but I let it out and he pleaded with me not to. So, it's his birthday and if he doesn't want to have a surprise it's his prerogative, right?

MondayAmanda's choice:
Gyros

TuesdayMatt's choice
crockpot meatloaf (I told you it was good!)
baked potatoes
corn on the cobb
rolls

WednesdayBailey's choice:
lasagna (no meat)
broccoli
garlic toast
cheesecake (his request as well)

ThursdayEmelia's choice
tortilla soup
(I haven't made this in so long and she has been asking for it... it is so good!)

FridayOn the road...

Don't forget to come back tomorrow for time travel Tuesday, we are traveling back in time to remember our fathers. What special memories do you have of or with your dad? With father's day right around the corner let's take this time to think of dear old dad. (p.s. I love my daddy!)

Man, you are quick. I just got my weekend reflections up.

Yummy looking week for you guys. I am thinking I may need to try that meatloaf--you seem to be really raving about it! :) I had to laugh at your comment about how old Matt is--my husband is 51!! Now THAT my dear is old. :) AND I am 45--yikes!
Have a great Monday and I am really thinking hard about TTT this week.

Thanks for sharing! I bookmarked the meatloaf recipe. Hubby likes meatloaf but I've been overwhelmed with all the different recipes.

Great idea Annie on letting everyone pick! Sometimes in the summer I would do that plus let each kid be in charge of cooking or helping me cook for one day each week.
I'm going to have to try that meatloaf too since you guys seem to like it so much.

I love Gyros! We moved awhile back and it's really hard where we are to find the lamb to do them though. Great week ahead. Have fun traveling.

That all looks so good Annie, I love that you got everyone to pick a favorite meal. They all look good to me! I have a tortilla soup recipe that I love and haven't made in ages either, maybe I need to rectify that soon :)

Have a great week, and a safe trip :)

Have a fun safe trip to Dallas! Your menu looks great, I can't wait for my boys to be old enough to choose something for dinner other than mac and cheese and pizza!

I do that every so often, as well. It's fun to see what everyone comes up with. :o)

I'm gonna skip MPM this week. I am in the mood for winging it all week. I did my grocery shopping on Saturday but I'm just not in a planning mood. I'm making your chicken cream cheese enchiladas tonight. I'll be sure to let ya know how we like them.

Y'all have a good Monday!

The meatloaf sounds good. I may have to try this soon. I like the idea of cooking it in the crockpot and not heating the house with the oven, now that it is getting HOT around here.

I love your idea of letting everyone have a pick during the week. Each person gets one meal of their choice...love the idea! When our family gets a little bigger, that will be something to consider. Have a great week!!

PS, are you gonna tell me about the good things you heard and who they were from??? Was it your brother, Mike?

That's a great idea...letting everyone choose a meal! I'll be trying that soon!!

How in the world did you talk your parents into letting you marry a guy 15 years older than you??!!?? ;) Looks like a good eating week at your home! My son cooks every Thursday and my daughter cooks every Tuesday-I like it!

Well, thanks to you and Mike for the compliments. Unfortunately, I have not got to spend very much time around either of you...more Mike than you though. I feel I know you probably better, thanks to the blog reading world. See ya around!

I love the idea of letting each family member choose a meal. However if I did that, we’d eat junk the whole week ;)
