Menu Plan Monday ~my 7th~

I read this post at organizing junkie and this post at Lifesong, and decided it was time to get a bit more organized instead of just swimming through all my favorite recipes bookmarked on IE. So, I printed them out, got a notebook and dividers... and made about 4 weeks worth of menus! I followed Kim's idea of making each night of the week a certain category and then plugging in recipes. The only problem I had was that many recipes are many different things... like taco chicken is: chicken, crock pot, and mexican! For now my weeks will look like this...

Monday ~ chicken
Tuesday~ beef
Wednesday~ mexican
Thursday ~ crock pot
Friday ~ pasta
Saturday ~ easy
Sunday ~ crockpot

I am finding so many new recipes doing this menu plan monday, slow cooker thursday, and favorite ingredients friday!

Here's what my week looks like at this point...always subject to change! I am linking all the new recipes I've snagged below, thanks guys!

Monday~
Chicken Pot Pie!

Tuesday~
Dreamy Spaghetti
broccoli
garlic toast
salad

Wednesday~
Tacos
Spanish rice
refried beans
avocado

Thursday~
Pork chop & potato dinner (using this
for Slow cooker Thursday :)
green beans
rolls
lemon bundt cake

Friday~
burgers
potato salad
baked beans

Saturday~
Empanadas (one of my new favorites, so
easy and really good!)

Hop over to MPM headquarters and join in, you'll be glad you did.

Hey girl, your Friday menu is my Saturday menu! I posted my unique baked beans recipe! I'm impressed with your organizing. I used to have a six week rotation but I didn't stick to it very well. I need to try it again.

Looks like a great week! I have just two days of my week set as something, I started that with my menu planning. Monday is Mexican monday and Wednesday is a crock pot day since our wednesdays are busy. Just knowing you need a specific kind of food that day makes menu planning even easier! Good for you and good luck!

Menu looks great. I really wish I had room for a crockpot but my little apartment kitchen doesn't have the space. It's on my list of things to get when we finally get a house.

Have a great week!

I think I am going to try having a certain "meat/food" for the days of the week. I think that will be even better in planning. Your menu looks great as always! Blog is super too! Care to give lessons? LOL!

Wow, I never thought about organizing types of meals before...Keep us updated with how that works out for you...I notice there weren't any days for "Leftovers", maybe that's the "Easy" day. Great menu this week! Have fun!!!

Hi Annie!
Assigning a basic ingredient or way of cooking to each day of the week is such a good idea!
My mum used to plan like this:
For Sunday it was roast (lamb with potatoes, veal with pasta)
Monday was leftovers or fish and salad day.
On Wednesdays and Fridays, being Christian and in remembrance of the Last Supper and mourning as in Good Friday, we are not eating (or not supposed to be eating) meat and dairy, so it was mainly what we call olive oil based dishes such as lentils or butter beans in the winter, or green beans in the summer.
On Thursdays we had minced meat of some kind, like meatballs or burgers or fish and salad.
Saturday was hot bath and soup evening. No meat and dairy again because we were going to take Holy Communion on Sunday morning in church.
You did well to remind me...
Have a great week.

Hi- I'm visiting from Big blueberry Eyes and thought I'd stop by...
My girls are 7 and 4 (soon to be five) and I happened to read in your reply about your child's dental surgery. We had to do this twice with my youngest...if she even looks at sugar she gets cavitites, it seems!
The first procedure was at the hospital and the second at the dentist's office...all went well both times. Just be prepared for how they are coming out of the anthesisia...it can take a while (and sometimes be a little upsetting to them.)

Anyway, it was nice to meet you! Stop by any time...:)
