A tag... day four in the diet devo...jill's book bag~

I've been tagged by my friend Marcia to list my quirky personal policies, she must know me pretty well even though we are in different countries to know that I have quirky personal policies...

  1. I always use hand gel when entering my car. I usually squeeze out enough to saturate the handle on a grocery cart because it is just gross to touch that thing, but if not I am sure to gel down when I return to my car. This includes my steering wheel and phone because I may have touched them too you know?
  2. I always feel required to respond to emails before deleting them. This (of course) doesn't apply to junk mail or mail outs... but personal emails.
  3. Along that line I also feel compelled to write a reciprocal comment when my blog has been commented on.
  4. This one you know, but it's a major one for me... I have to have sonic ice in my freezer. I make sure to get a new bag before the other is empty. I'm enjoying the freedom of sending Amanda out to get my ice these days (she's gone right now) and she is happy to go because she gets a drink while there too.
  5. I rarely leave the house without makeup. I don't feel dressed without it. Matt actually prefers me without makeup, but I think husbands just say things like that :o).
  6. I will not eat anything containing any fruit or fruit juice or anything that has touched fruit.
  7. I always sleep with my purse on my side of the bed. I can't sleep if I have forgotten to bring it in my room when I go to bed until I get it. I don't know why.
  8. I fold clothes straight from the dryer. They don't get unloaded first. I like them to be warm so they fold easily. Sometimes if Amanda does her own laundry she will just put what is in the dryer on the table and it unnerves me. You just don't do it that way.
  9. I realize this list is making me sound OCD, I am really very normal...fyi.
  10. Last one, I think I have already mentioned this... but I like my car clean. I will now let the kids eat if necessary but they have to keep everything in the bag or box it came in and throw it away at the first stop we make.
If you are a person with quirky personal policies, consider yourself tagged, let me know when you do this so I can read about all your quirkiness.

Now the diet devo... I was telling Matt this morning that I've been typing these out on my blog... to which he replied, "how many days are there?" and I looked ... there are 180 days. So, I'll just post them until no one cares anymore and then stop :o).

Day four
1Cr 6:20

You were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body.

Sometimes it is difficult to stick with a diet once it has begun. If we are dieting for ourselves, we often lose heart, but if we feel we're dieting for someone else, it can be the motivation we need to stick with it. Everyday we make promises to God, and those promises we do everything in our power to keep. God calls us to be the best we can be, physically as well as spiritually. We should commit our diets to God. If we see dieting as a sacrifice we make to God, then we can find a deeper power to remain committed to our efforts to lose weight. Let everything we do honor and glorify God, for that is what truly pleases Him.

Today' Thought
We are not alone in our attempt to lose weight!

Last, but not least... Jill over at Who could ask for anything more... is hosting a new monthly contest called Jill's book bag! Jill's Book Bag will be a monthly event wherein one participate will receive her pick-of-the-month book, plus some other goodies of her choosing, all sent to you in a cool little bag. Doesn't this sound fun? Well, if you think so you can go over to her blog and sign up.

Also, go look at Irene's wordless Wednesday!!!

Amanda was in New York last night. They were eating dinner and staying in a hotel there. I know she is having a ball! They will finish the drive to Canada today. If you have a second, please pray for her safety. Another thing for today is Izzy's first day of Summer school. She will spend time with the st, ot, and pt. Should be fun!

Annie know that I am praying for Amanda and her safety and I'm praying for Izzie's first day of school. Yay! What a big girl!! I know how proud of her you are.

And thanks for the daily diet devotions. I come to these first thing each morning. I am praying about what I need to do. I have been a human yoyo for so long that this past year I haven't even attempted. I have just accepted my weight. But I know I need to care for my temple and I need to take a step forward soon. :)

How funny that your devo's title says, "You were bought for a price." I just commented this morning (on Heather's blog) about being bought for a price. I just heard a friend say this to her complaining daughter. Ever since I heard this, I have thought twice before complaining (to myself or outloud). Who am I to complain about these things when He went through so much worse simply to take away my worries. You know?

Anyway...it's awesome for the diet, too. It's not my body. I've always "known" that, but I haven't really thought about all He went through to buy me until recently.

Enjoying the fact you're letting us know where Amanda is. I've just said a special little prayer for Izzie as summer school begins.

I just noticed the grocery store is now carrying antibacterial wipes to wipe down the grocery cart handle!
I definitely have quirks ...just ask my honey & kids ;) I think I might do this later today/tonight.
(((HUGS))) to Izzy on her first day of summerschool (and to Mom ;)
Prayers sent up for both Amanda and Izzy.
My honey is from NY, so it will always hold a special place in my heart!
Have a wonderful day!

I don't think that's too over the top! The fruit thing is kinda freaky but hey! Clutter unnerves me as well - some of us just can't handle it!hehehehehe!

I still don't get the fruit thing, Annie.

Well, when I get home from anywhere, the first thing I do is go to the bathroom to wash my hands :) And aside from the makeup, everything else sounds just normal to me. :)

Ummm, yeah, from one OCD girl to another ... I *feel* ya on just about all of these, LOL! David's got OCD, as well, and whew, what a combo we are, LOL.

I don't, however, wear ANY makeup. Never have and never will. That's not saying that I don't *need* it, LOL. I'm just a very natural person and don't like using those sort of products. David also loves that I don't wear any. :o)

I always *check on* my purse when I go to bed. I don't take it to bed with me, though, LOL. But, I make sure it's accounted for.

I'll be praying for your girls. :o) Shoot, I'l even pray for Bailey, LOL! :o)

I loved your personal policies. I identify with quite a few. :) I am a smidge OCD myself. ;) I am sure my hubby would say "a smidge" isn't quite an adequate description! LOL! I will be praying for Amanda and Izzy...well really for all of you! 9:00 AM sharp every day girlie!

Oh, Annie,
You're quirky policies crack me up!
What is sonic ice?
I'm with you on the makeup, though I'm "getting better" according to my hubby. In fact, I'm not wearing any makeup today. That's one of the things I like about summer - when I get tan I feel prettier without makeup.
This was definitely a fun "get to know ya" post.

I love reading other people's quirks. And, what is sonic ice? I is definitely beverage related, so I gotta know! :o)

Clutter and messiness drives me crazy, too....so this construction stuff are my house is about enough to make me chew my wrist!

Thanks for popping by, I so enjoy your blog. What a gifted lady you are. I was thinking/praying for you and your 5 children, when I re-read that you have 4. Not sure who the 5th one was then :-)

I *ADORE* Sonic ice. Just right for crunching. None of mine are old enough for that run yet, but before TOO long!

I'm the same way about comments on the blog. Thank you so much for visiting and leaving me loves every day! You're a blessing, Annie.

Sonic ice is the bomb. And I also fold the clothes while they are hot out of the dryer.
I expected to see that you insist on driving rather than being a passenger! =)
Fun to read!
