Ever had one of those days...?...

Today started with a 'puddle' of water in my kitchen floor... followed by an exploded bag of rolls in the freezer, can you guess why??? ding ding ding, lady in the corner? Yep, the refrigerator died! Just what I wanted on a nice Tuesday morning right? Oh, it gets better...
So I was feeding Iz her blueberry, vitamin, protein, soy milk drink and she was kinda whiny like something was hurting so I tried to reposition her and when I did I sloshed the cup of drink all over her head. So, we headed directly to the bath and didn't pass go ...
And then... I was trying to unload things to try to salvage them from the freezer when I walked in the front room (my dad was here) to find a guy I used to know when I looked like I do in those pictures right below this post about 20 years ago... wasn't it just lovely of him to stop by to say hello? I couldn't be more pleased... except that I had on my big t-shirt, no bra, pink pj pants with christmas packages on them and blueberry soy drink all down my front... my hair was in a messy bun with my bangs bobby pinned back, get the vision of loveliness? He did. It was kinda mortifying.
So I spent the afternoon shopping for a new fridge and cleaning out the old fridge... they will trade places tomorrow when the delivery guy comes.
Lessons learned... don't slosh blueberry drink on people, don't be so ugly even when at home where you think no one will see you, and always look for the bright side of things... play the glad game like pollyanna did... you know.
I'm glad I am alive. I'm glad I get a new fridge. I'm glad tomorrow is a new day. :o)

Awwwwww, Annie, no fair !!!!!!!

There needs to be a law that cute men from our past MUST call at least one day in advance with a specific time that they are going to be dropping by, before they do !!!!!

Augggghhhhh !

I hope your new fridge is one of those cool ones with all the shelves and 'toys' that make new appliances so much fun to have !

Hope tomorrow is better for you, sweetie !

I'm so sorry, but I couldn't help but laugh--not because of what happened, but because I can so relate. I am the worst about getting presentable in the mornings--and I have paid for it dearly--not as dearly as you just did though. So sorry about your fridge-I hate it when that happens--hope you found a great new one, though.

I promise I'm NOT laughing at you, but wow, I'm REALLY laughing. You described that situation SOOOO well and we've all had one of those days, so I guess I'm really laughing at myself for all those days I've had.

I'm excited for you that you get a new fridge!

Oooooooooooohhhhhhh Annie!!!

You know I know better than to stay in my jammies, but I do it anyway. Today was one of those days. I spent most of the morning horizontal as much as possible with my back issues.

Glad the fridge got resolved!!

I'm glad your day took a better turn.

Oh my word - that's when you just want to get right back into bed and start all over again!

How lovely that you can still look on the bright side.

At least you're getting a new fridge!!!

Oh I'm so sorry you had a bad day! I stay in my pj's too long most mornings and usually regret it.
Hope today is better!
Can't wait to hear about the new fridge, pics maybe!
I want a new one but don't want to have it the way you did.

I had to laugh, too! ((pouty lips)) I'm so sorry, and I feel for Izzy. I don't think she signed up for a blueberry shake on her, either! I had something real tacky to say, but I'll leave it out. Glad you're getting a new fridge. Our microwave went out, and our dishwasher is pushing it.

Laughing WITH you on this one. Isn't that always the way it goes - we see people we know when we don't look our best. Hope tomorrow is better.

Oh, Annie!
When I read the title to this post, my response was a resounding YES!!!
But see, it made for a great blog entry. Yes, we can find redeeming qualities in this situation.
Did the refrigerator mishap affect your crock pot meatloaf? My family loved it. Thanks for the recipe!
Here's to new days!

I was laughing but not in an ugly way! I have had more of these days than I care to recall. Hope that today is better! Oh and sorry I didn't do TTT. I could not for the life of me remember my first date. :( I know I had one, and I know who with....I just couldn't remember it!

Easy for me to chuckle! But yea what an awful day. Lots of :hugs: going your way!

Oh, I can so relate. That ranks right up there with surprise guests seeing your living room littered with toys, and sink full of dirty dishes.
I'm a first time visitor to your nice site. I'll pray for your Izzy. Thanks for stopping by to check out my menu for this week!

I would have had a breakdown on the spot! LOL! That's alot to handle in one morning! The only bad thing that came my way today was lots of doggie puke and a $100 trip to the vet :-(

Annie,

This had me laughing only cause I can relate! Nothing like company at all the wrong times. I love the description of the clothes, sounds like something I would be wearing! Thank the Lord that we get another chance on a new day!

Hope all is well with the new frig, and that Izzy is back to herself.
Love and hugs to you!

Oh Annie! So sorry about that! Especially for the guy!
That reminds me of my mum: she always looked perfectly groomed, even when running errands. She used to say: "You never know who may walk through that door!". She never wore sleepers, apart from the time she was going to bed or out of it.
My MIL does the same. She is always dressed up with a little piece of jewellery and tow nail!
I think it has to do with that generation of women who grew up in the 40s-50s:it was unthinkable not to be perfectly groomed.
Sometimes when I do a chore (especially the dreaded all out cleaning, my weak spot)I lift my eyes to a mirror and for a moment I wonder "Who is that crone over there?". Then I realise who she is. That for my morale!
Kiss beautiful Izzy for me. I think some blueberry and soy are OK for the skin, so I wouldn't worry about that!
Have a bright new day!
