Last week it was all about shoes… While shoes are still in the front of my mind, I’ll move on and not be repetitive…

Don’t you just love watching your kids sleep? I mean not just watching them, but seeing their little sweet faces looking so innocent and pretty. I took this picture of Izzy sleeping, so peacefully. Look at her little hands.
Boys! To be more specific, my boy! Bailey asked if he could have a few friends over for a sleepover. Outside! He was shocked that I said yes instantly without thought. We spent last Saturday emptying a storage building to make room for some things that will hopefully find their way there this weekend but Bailey saw the open building as a perfect place for a campout! I had to laugh when the boys spent hours running extension cords, taking portable heaters, television, games, movies, and food all out. It got colder as the sun disappeared and I didn’t think they would last as long as they did. They came in shortly before midnight. This was after watching the movie, making a camp fire, roasting marshmallows, and drinking an entire case of coke. Boys… you gotta love them! (the sweetest part was that Bailey allowed Emelia, his 10 year old sister, to tag along.)
This new thin wallet! When I bought my coach purse in Florida I bought the matching wallet. What I didn’t realize was that the wallet was big and bulky and hard to get in and out of my purse… I found this (well, almost… mine has hot pink trim) slim wallet that is so cool!
This shaving cream. I love it. I first bought the coconut and loved it, this time I got the raspberry mist.
Blogging! I heart my bloggy buddies! KC gave me this today! Thanks KC! Some of my first blog friends were JennaG, Stacy, Carrie (doesn’t blog anymore but I keep up with her on facebook), Haley, Sheryl, Irene, Sonya, Judi, and Karen!

It’s been a busy Wednesday morning around here! Overall it’s going well… beds made (check), laundry done (check), dinner planned (check), Izzy fed breakfast (check), Izzy with foot splints (check), Izzy in stander 30 minutes (check)… I have a big stack of CADs I need to work on in a minute and then it will be time to get Izzy to school! YIKES.

To update my review of the WEN product I mentioned… I’ve used it a few more times and I think it is getting better. I still feel like my hair isn’t as clean as I like. I normally use biolage which smells so clean to begin with and usually wash and wash again before using conditioner. I like clean. Anyway, this stuff smells pretty good, kinda minty. It doesn’t lather. At all. It’s like putting conditioner on your hair. But you leave it on for the whole time you shower (five minutes or more) and then rinse it off. You use a lot. It’s recommended that you use like 24 pumps of it minimum. It’s hard to use so much of something that was $30 for a small bottle, but I’m giving it a fair shot. I have had several people say my hair looks smoother than they have ever seen it. It’s naturally curly and I prefer it straight. I have been staightening it more and even with the normal humidity of Oklahoma it’s been staying straight without getting frizzy. I am not sure yet… a)if I’ll re-buy… my hair is going to have to show drastic results to buy more or b) if it is going to drive me crazy feeling like my hair isn’t clean enough. I’ll keep you updated, I know you are just on the edge of your seat!

I marinated chicken yesterday to grill. At 4:45 I went out to fire up the grill and noticed the flames were not very high. Oops… time for a new bottle of propane. Matt (usually) gets home at five and is hungry, more now that I’ve been ~~starving~~ limiting his portions. So I opted for plan B which wasn’t a plan at all, but almost an entire pizza left in the fridge from the night before. I put it in the oven to make it crispy again and fixed a spinach salad and broccoli on the side. I put the chicken in the fridge because it’s better anyway if it marinates longer, right? Then Matt calls to say he is working late. Really late. So, at 10 p.m. he got what resembled two slices of pizza but has turned into a cracker with dry cheese because it sat in the over (I did remember to turn it off - duh!) for hours & hours! That’ll teach him to be late! No not really, I just didn’t have a plan C… Well, I could have a plan C but by ten I wasn’t willing to do a plan C. He didn’t complain. He’s a saint.

I was looking through the folder that was sent home from school with Isabelle yesterday evening. I didn’t read read everything but kinda glanced at everything and thank goodness I noticed the snack schedule! She is the snack bringer for TODAY! I had no idea. She wasn’t on the schedule for last year in pre-k, probably because she doesn’t stay in the room during snack time and doesn’t always partake in snacks… but I don’t mind bringing them… just glad I know to bring them. So some time before I take her which is only a couple of hours we have to run to the store and find something healthy. I had bought some chewy fruit things at Sams that say 100% of daily vitamins… for snacks for the big kids. I think it had about 50 packs inside and thought… I can take out 19 of those and send them. They are healthy. After reading the notes from the teacher it said “do not send chewy fruit or candy.” Okay. I’ll have to go to the store. Izzy’s favorite snack is gogurt. But, I doubt I’ll send that. We’ll see. Any suggestions (please don’t tell me to slice fruit! UGH)?

1. What are you up to today? Be specific. We’ve talked about your morning routine before, now walk us through a typical Monday for you after breakfast is over. How do you feel about Mondays? A fresh start to your week? Or do you dread the drudge of getting back to the same old routine?

I usually eat something quickly while feeding Izzy her breakfast while checking email and blogs etc. The time I spend feeding izzy is true multi-tasking because I am stuck sitting and try to do all the sit down things I can like make phone calls etc. So when we get finished eating breakfast I pick things up and make the beds if I haven’t already. Then I start laying out clothes for school and getting things ready for her lunch. The mornings seem to be a big feed fest :)… I usually feed her a noon and watch the first part of 7th heaven. Then I get her dressed and me ready and take her to school. I look forward to Mondays. I like the start of a new week and it’s nice to have a quiet house after a hectic weekend.

2. Earworms - we all get them from time-to-time. What tune do you have stuck in your head at the moment? How important is music to your life? List some of your favorite songs - and I’m talking about songs that evoke a strong emotion in you; joy, anger, sadness, etc. Do you have one particular song that brings back a certain time period in your life? What is the song and what is the time period?

It’s a song we sang in church today. It goes something like, “waves of mercy waves of grace everytime I look I see your face your love has captured me… every step I take i take in you you make me move jesus every breath i take i breath in you…” I listen to music all day. All types. I have been listening to a few cd’s this past week. Mama Mia and Nathan Tasker. The song “Slip, Slide, and away,” takes me right back to 4-5th grade. The news station always played it while rolling the schools closing due to snow or ice. I loved that song. And more than that loved having a day out of school!

3. Who have you needed to say thank you to lately? Who is this person and what did he/she do to prompt a thank you?

Mom. She is always there for me and I take her for granted. There aren’t many people who love you totally unconditionally. She does. She comes down everyday to help with Izzy’s therapy.

4. How many candles will be on your birthday cake this next birthday? What do you think about the age you are now? Are you comfortable with what you’ve accomplished in life so far? Or do you wish you could have achieved more? You’re being granted one birthday wish - what is it?

A lot. It’s old :)… Nah, I just don’t feel as old as I am in years. I am almost enjoying it though, I feel like I am finished with the young petty stuff. I’m not really happy with what I have accomplished in some areas while in others I am. Izzy’s accident was definitely a setback… but the kids are all such good kids and I’m proud of them. Very proud. One birthday wish? What else? Izzy walking & talking!

What is one thing you were convicted about when you were younger, but now being older and wiser you have changed your mind on that belief? Why? Or on the other side, what is one thing you may have not held a conviction on that you now do? Why?

I was raised in a very very conservative church. I was convicted at an early age that religion was primarily about the laws that were found in the bible. I always felt like I didn’t quite measure up and rarely felt the presence of God. I was in church a minimum of three time per week. Every week.

As I got a little older I questioned some of those rules or beliefs and was told why and accepted it. Until Izzy’s accident. I read the bible with new eyes and saw that there was much more to it than the laws. The laws are important and I feel like God wants me to be an obedient daughter… but God is with us. Here. Every day. He guides my life and helps me.

On a lighter note, as a child or even young adult I never felt convicted to make my bed… now I can’t stand to leave it unmade. Why? Probably because I grew up :)…

Get more space bags, put Matt's winter comfy clothes in one and store.
Look for a nightstand that is different, yet coordinates with the bedroom. Remove all the books from the bookshelf/nightstand and reorganize the two lined baskets holding Izzy's hair stuff and lotions. Maybe an under the bed type basket or something. Put away suction machine that is on same shelf because I don't use it for Izzy anymore and it is ugly and takes up space. Sort through books on the shelf and put into categories in other bookshelves throughout the house.
Go to marshall's and look at bedding sets/dust ruffles/bed skirts.
Look for new hamper for bathroom in my bedroom.
Look for new hamper for hall bathroom while looking anyway...
Go to grocery store and get ingredients to make brocolli salad and chicken to marinate and grill (using Kim's sticky coconut chicken recipe).
Finish doing several loads of laundry.
Put clothes on hangers into appropriate closets.
Take down birthday sign!
Clean my shower.
Pay car payment.
Do pool maintenance.
Give away chest of drawers that used to be in my room.

Okay... enough talking about doing what I need to do, now I'm off to actually do it! Hopefully I'll get it ALL done! What's on your to do list today?

I've mentioned that we have been catching up on all the old episodes of 7th Heaven lately. One fun episode was when T-bone bought Reverend Camdon and his wife Adjustable Beds! Amanda loves dressing up in costumes, Halloween night has always been her very favorite! She is always looking for new Halloween costume ideas. I know one of her favorite costumes was Marilyn Monroe, but she also loves to dress up like Tinkerbell. I think she has been Tinkerbell more than any other character! I think that she would make a great Marie Antoinette! I was a gypsy so many years growing up for my halloween costume! It was easy and cheap. My mom would find a white top with puffy sleeves, a long full skirt, big hoop earrings and a scarf on my head. Voila, instant gypsy! There are so many other Halloween costumes that have been unforgettable. One year I dressed all the kids up like Mickey and Minnie Mouse's. They were adorable and are some of my favorite past Halloween pictures. Bailey was honestly the cutest Mickey Mouse I've ever seen! I pulled out Emelia's old Minnie Mouse costume last year and it fit Isabelle. She was a perfect little Minnie Mouse and it worked out really good because we had just returned from out trip to Disneyworld.

I've been to so many weddings! I love weddings. There is so much thought put into every little detail, from the colors of the flowers to how many candles are lit. I love seeing the groom's face when the bride walks through the door for the first time. You can really tell how much she is loved by the look on his face. Priceless. I remember when my dad was escorting me into the church and looked at me and said, "are you sure?" The photographer flash blinded me as I said, "yep!" I was then and now nineteen years later still am sure! Our photographer was a bossy guy who dictated the entire day. I'll forgive him because the pictures were nice.

It's a little scary to think that there is such a lack of nutrition in our child's diets. The american diet is deficient in omega-3. I've heard they are getting less than ten percent of what they need and this can start causing problems. Omega-3 can improve attention and sharpen focus. It can increase reading abilities and reduce impulsivity. It can improve mood and the child's behavior and reduce anxiety. It also supports immune function.

The reason our kids are lacking in this is because they are not eating fresh fish regularly which is very high in omega-3. There are a lot of reasons people aren't eating fish on a regular basis, if they are like my kids they just don't like fish. I honestly am not a fan of fish either. I always thought taking flax seed or eating them would do, but apparently fish oil is necessary regardless of the intake of flax seed.

So, how do we find the best omega-3 supplement for our children? Not all supplements are the same and not all of them are good. Regular fish oil has thirty percent or less omega-3 which means your child would have to take several spoons a day to get what they need. Matt's cousin (and my friend) Jana heard that Amanda was getting ready for prom and sent Amanda a check to get a spray tan. It was so sweet of Jana to think of Amanda. The neatest thing was that Amanda went the following Monday after prom to the store to buy a thank you card for Jana. She didn't need to be prompted or reminded to do so. Thank you Cards are the perfect way to let someone know you acknowledge and appreciate what they have done for you. I always have tried to teach the kids that no one has to do anything for them. That when someone does something nice for them they should make sure that the person knows they were thankful for them. Some tips I have given them is to:
1. List the item or what they are thanking the person for, like: Thank you so much for sending me money for a spray tan.
2. Then tell them something relating the thing to you, like: I really enjoyed being tan for prom.
3. Lastly always make sure you make it personal.
It doesn't necessarily have to be wordy, just personal and thoughtful. I think teaching your children to be thankful is essential!

I am pretty interested in web design these days. With my new .com page I am always looking for ways to change it up or make it look better. It's harder than I had originally thought and have found different places to find more information. Like the Max Web Design Blog. It's a web page about web design, marketing, and programming. It's a easy to read, thoughtfully arranged web page with a lot of articles to choose from.

There are a lot of interesting posts to check out, some that caught my eye: Web designer's wish: Attend to a web based course; Tools I use for search engine optimization; and Use Google analytics to improve website performance. There is so much information there about google analytics that I simply didn't know about or had never heard about. I hope to find some other information that I can use on my websites as well.

This website is a magazine style web design related blog. It was created to share information about projects, websites, marketing and search engine optimization tips. There is also descriptions of different software, websites, and other stuff. I recommend you check it out and see if there is some useful information for you there.

I've been looking over an SEO blog this morning. There are many useful office tools to be used. Some of the information I gathered from the blog is that there are several search engines to use. We all know about google.com and yahoo.com, but what about live.com, ask.com, dogpile.com, and refdesk.com? I know that I don't use these and didn't know about a few of them. This blog author appears to have done his/her homework on this subject and goes into great detail about the roles each of these search engines play in the search engine web world.

There are other articles I found interesting, like how to add google gadgets. I have recently been using igoogle and really enjoy the google gadgets so I'll be checking out that in more detail. Also a post on how to use blogs to help build your business. Blogs can actually bring in income for the blog owner. I know that to be true for a fact and found this article to be especially interesting with a lot of information about what audience you would like to target and how you can effectively generate income using your blog. I know that blog ads are one way, but there are other ways as well.

I just heard about a great Spring event sale on the website Ohsochicboutique! You get 15% off and also receive free priority shipping. I saw the cutest brown shirt with ruffles called "It girl." It girl has a high neck, ruffled bust and removable sash. There was also a orange shirt called, "delish" that is adorable. One of the coolest things on the site is a t-shirt that says, "I believe." You know I love everything that has that saying on it. I may have to get one while the sale is going on. There are lots of other really cute dresses and other things to choose from.
